Position: Kitchen Assistant/Kitchen Coordinator

Responsibilities:

1. Kitchen Operations Management:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily kitchen operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, cooking meals, and supporting the chef.

2. Inventory Control & Stock Management:

  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing supplies.
  • Assist with the receiving and storing of deliveries.

3. Supplier Coordination:

  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of food and kitchen supplies.

4. Staff Coordination & Team Collaboration:

  • Support and assist kitchen staff in ensuring that food is prepared and presented to the highest standard.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team and act as the liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

5. Quality Control:

  • Ensure that all food items are prepared according to recipe specifications and meet quality standards.

6. Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Ensure that all kitchen operations comply with local health and safety regulations.

7. Cleaning & Maintenance:

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils are clean and sanitized.
  • Operate dishwashers and ensure all utensils are cleaned and sanitized in a timely manner.

8. Equipment Maintenance:

  • Monitor the condition of kitchen equipment.

9. Waste Management:

  • Dispose of waste properly and assist with recycling as required.
  • Ensure that food wastage is minimized.

10. Event Support & Assistance:

  • Assist in coordinating and organizing kitchen activities for special events.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of special events.

11. Other Duties:

  • Provide general assistance in the kitchen as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is required (experience in kitchen operations or coordination is a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate a team (for coordinator role).
  • Familiarity with inventory management and supplier relations.
  • Basic culinary skills are a plus.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and ability to follow instructions.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must live in the Lekki, Lagos Axis (Do not apply if you live outside this area).
